Corporate Driven Programme

ABOUT THE PROJECT

EESL and BEE are jointly planning to support Designated Consumers´ industries by creating an ecosystem, which not only provide support in meeting their allocated Specific Energy Consumption (SEC) reduction targets to DCs under the PAT scheme, but also support market transformation for innovative technologies and bring substantial investment in this endeavour.

Under DEEP, EESL has to demonstrate 8 innovative technologies in about 27 Designated Consumers (DCs) which has not been commercialized to the large scale and have potential for energy efficiency improvement. Subsequently, EESL shall aggregate the demand for EE technologies with an objective to reach out maximum numbers of Designated Consumers for large-scale deployment of EE technologies to achieve the market transformation.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Global Environment Facility (GEF), an international partnership focussed on addressing global environmental issues, has partnered with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) for the project ‘Creating and Sustaining Markets for Energy Emciency, under its GEF – 6 cycle to further impetus on the implementation of EE in India. The GEF-6 project aims to mitigate around 60 million tons of CO2 eq by 2032 by deployment of various energy efficient technologies.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Working with an aim to overcome the existing barriers of implementation of energy efficiency in the Indian MSMEs, the project “Promoting Market Transformation for Energy Efficiency in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises” which was formally launched by hon’ble MSME Minister Shri. Giriraj Singh on 6th February 2019. This program designed to supporting the industry to become energy efficient, cost competitive and sustainable. The project is under the Global Environmental Facilities’ (GEF) programmatic framework for energy efficiency in India and includes United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as the Implementing Agency (IA) and Ministry of MSME as the Lead Executing Agency (EA). The key Executing Partner for the project is Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL). Small Industrial Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) are the guiding agencies for the project. The project targets to accelerate adoption of energy efficient technologies in the sector by removing its key barriers. The project aims to deploy 33-35 technologies in selective MSME clusters in the country which have maximum possibility of replication and potential to improve the energy baseline of fellow MSMEs units. Aiming at market transformation where in the project will adopt various innovative business models of ESCO (Energy Servicing Company) based financing where in the MSME units are expected to repay from their monetized energy saving in a stipulated period of time.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

EESL has launched the Energy Efficiency Measures in UT of Ladakh to make the Union Territory a carbon neutral region. Under this program EESL is going to provide the Heat pump based energy efficient space heating solution to the UT administration.
EESL is offering the two categories of EE space heating solutions namely:

a. Air based Heat Pump:
Heat pump-based energy efficient space heating solutions in small public buildings (like- offices, schools) (with 8 hrs operations & Temp -15 deg C to +15 Deg C).
b. Water based Heat Pump:
Heat pump-based energy efficient space heating solutions in medium size public buildings (like- Hostels, guest houses) (centralized system with 24 hrs operations & Temp -30 deg C to +15 Deg C).

Heat Pump based space heating solution is EESL’s first of its kind program. Therefore, we are planning to conduct the pilot demonstration for both the categories of heat pump (i.e. air based as well as water based) to establish the performance as well as the energy saving potential. Subsequently, EESL will go for the upscaling of the same.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Asia Low Carbon Building Transition Project (ALCBT), which holds significant promise in aiding India’s pursuit of its NDC targets. Funded by the Government of Germany (BMWK), the ALCBT initiative commenced on August 15th, 2023. It seeks to bolster building energy efficiency and catalyze a transition towards low-carbon structures. The project, under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), will be executed in three states: Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Kerala. Spearheaded by a consortium comprising Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) from India, HEAT International from Germany, and ASEAN Centre of Energy (ACE) from Indonesia, with Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) as the lead/managing partner, the ALCBT endeavour holds immense potential for sustainable development.
