In the quest of arresting post-harvest loss, India is poised to strengthen Cold Chain.
Post harvest loss not only challenges India’s food security but also leads to waste of resources deployed.
The waste harvest in turn also, leads to GHG emission impacting global environment adversely.
Since Cold chain shall again require additional energy in network, EESL has committed to make the entire system efficient.
Recognising the 50% post-harvest loss at farm gate only, EESL has brought in solution through deployment of Efficient Solar powered Micro Cold Storages (SPMCS).
EESL aims to scale this programme pan India, with salient installations done at HP and AP. Other implementations are in offing at Rajasthan, UP, Gujrat.
EESL shall evoke latent market and transform the entire ecosystem.
Besides giving farmers relief from distress selling, this also gives opportunity of entrepreneurship through Cooling as a Service model.
