EESL, in collaboration with, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has initiated implementation of the pilot project under AgDSM in Solapur circle of Maharashtra.
Under the pilot project, over 2,200 old and inefficient pumps are being replaced with BEE star-rated Energy Efficient Pump Sets (EEPS). Additionally, free operation and maintenance services will be provided for the entire project duration. The energy savings from the project are estimated to be over 30% and can potentially reduce the subsidy burden for the State Government.

EESL is driving the implementation of AgDSM programme across India. We have successfully completed our first AgDSM project for 590 pump sets in Byadgi and Nippani circles under the Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM), Karnataka.
Further, we have replaced 1,337 pump sets in Mandya district under the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC), Karnataka. Currently, we are undertaking the implementation of AgDSM programme in Andhra Pradesh. The ongoing project, which includes replacement of 200,000 agricultural pump sets, will have estimated energy savings of over 30%.
We aim to upscale the AgDSM Programme in India through over-the-counter distribution of EEPS with Smart Control Panels. These Smart Control Panels allow remote monitoring and control of pump sets to farmers. EESL is determined to expand the program across the country to usher in an era of energy efficiency in the agriculture sector. We have already commenced discussions with Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Telangana, Haryana, and Jharkhand.
