There is remarkable potential for energy conservation in Thailand’s hospitality sector. A vaunted tourist destination, Thailand witnesses a large influx of international tourists every year. In 2019, Thailand is expecting more than 40 million tourists from across the globe. This translates into an increase in its hospitality sector’s energy operating cost. In that vein, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of four public sector enterprises under the Ministry of Power, Government of India is rolling out an energy efficiency programme in 5000 hotels across Thailand.
